Hi all. Let me introduce myself – my name is Karen Woodham and I started the Blazing Minds blog as a form of getting information out for North Wales and further afield and it’s working.Seriously though, blogging has always been a passion ever since getting the first taste of it some years back in 2008 and finding that it is just so damn addictive. Since starting Blazing Minds, I have blogged about a wide range of topics from everyday observations to blogging and twitter tips – it’s all here ready for you to read on the ‘North Wales Number One Website’.
I’ve also been blessed with getting some pretty amazing freebies to review from companies and individuals looking to show off their wares, these include a pair of Skechers Shape Ups, EZ Comb, merchandise from EMI, Aveeno creams, a sample of Absinthe and the list goes on.
Since starting my blog I’ve met many new bloggers, made lots of friends, via other blogs and this one from comments made on posts and I hope to keep going for as long as possible, so please browse the blog and enjoy it.
What is your blog about?
My blog is mainly about entertainment with news and reviews of cinema and DVD releases, theatre reviews and events and gigs that may be on in the area. I also throw in the occasional “How to” article when people ask me about things that I can help with.
Why did you decide to blog?
I started blogging back in 2008 after some friends were blogging, so I thought I would see what all the fuss was about.
What have you enjoyed most about blogging?
It’s been a great journey since that very first blog post, but when I started doing the film reviews for the local cinema it all started the fun off, now I enjoy blogging but most of all it’s been the new friends that I have been introduced to.
What challenges have you encountered?
Time has always been a challenge for me, specially with all the work that has started coming in since winning a National UK Blog Award, another challenge is dealing with the trolls that came along after the win as well. Another challenge is that I do have mild dyslexia and sometimes it is challenging when it comes to writing big articles.
What do you hope to achieve with your blog?
I do hope that my blog will win some more awards, fingers crossed
Do you have any future plans for your blog?
- With the event coverage that I do with the blog, I am looking in to some special and unique ways of bringing more of those to the blog in the future, but I’m keeping those under my hat at the moment.
